The Northbound Mitts pattern is a companion to the Northbound Hat. Both hat and mitts can be knit using one skein of Jitterbug. The lifted stitch is incorporated into the ribbing on the cuff, the top edge, and the thumb. The lifted stitch is also carried up the back of the hand in a tiered pattern, making for an interesting but quick knit. There
were still 30 grams of yarn remaining after knitting both the hat in the large size and the mitts in medium, so you could easily knit the cuffs longer for more warmth!

This pattern is an intermediate knit. Skills needed include working in the round, picking up stitches (for the thumb gusset), and basic stitches such as knit, purl, k2tog, and ssk. The lifted stitch is easy to do and instructions are included.
