This pattern is the February pattern of the Black Sheep Hoppy Feet Sock Club.

These footies were inspired by the Northern Lights. Their color and waffle rib pattern make me think of the brilliant dancing lights in the northern sky.

I choose a deep stacked ribbing cuff for these footies so that they are warm and ankle hugging, which is everything that good footies should be!

This pattern is meant for an adventurous novice to intermediate knitter. Please read the entire pattern before beginning.

Yarn: 1 skein Misti Alpaca, Hand Paint Sock Yarn Fingering, 50% Alpaca, 30% Merino, 10% Silk, 10% Nylon, 437 yards, Royal Blue HS47
Needle: US 1 (2.25 mm) Hiya Hiya Steel Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) or needles to obtain gauge

Gauge: 8 stitches per inch (spi) and 9 rows per inch (rpi) OR 32 stitches & 36 rows to 4 inches/10 cm in stockinette

Size: To fit a US women’s 8.5-9 shoe, approx. 8.25” circumference and 9” foot

To alter the size: Adjust your gauge to increase or decrease the circumference of the foot as needed.
