On the Cusp is a slightly asymetrical, shallow trianglular shawl. There is basic stranded colorwork patterning, making it a great beginner pattern!

This shawl was designed to work with 2 colors from the limited edition Toshstrology collection, dyed exclusively for Jimmy Beans Wool by Madelinetosh. My birthday happens to fall on the cusp between two different astrological signs, so I created a shawl inspired by that junction between signs.

The sample uses the ’16 May - Gemini, and ’16 June Cancer colors, but it will look great in just about any color combination!

Materials

Approximately 840 yards of fingering weight yarn, in 2 colors:

  • 1 skein of Madelinetosh Twist Light in ’16 May-Gemini
  • 1 skein of Madelinetosh Twist Light in ’16 June-Cancer

US 3 circular needle (at least 32”) or needle to obtain gauge.

26 sts and 32 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch, after blocking gently. Gauge isn’t critical, just make sure you are happy with the fabric!
