The bright ortansia tree in my verandah gave its name to this beautiful vest. The colours of the yarn remind me of the ortansia flowers. It looks a lot like a cardigan but even more like a wrap, if you choose to wrap yourself in it. In any case, it’s an easy-to-knit vest, with a taste of lace here and there! You can wear it all-year-round, if you decide to use a yarn like Noro Taiyo, but of course you are free to use any yarn you like, as long as it gives a nice drape.

I would like to thank you all in this wonderful Ravelry Community for your warm birthday wishes and for placing this pattern among the “hot right now” patterns during this past week (06/14-06/18/2015)
I would like to thank JLP for knitting such a beautiful version of this pattern! I really love the modified Ortansia she has created!
