Isn’t this just the cutest baby blanket ever? This project looks quite complex, but it is actually pretty simple and works up quick! This makes a great baby shower gift, and can be done in any colors for a boy or a girl. The faux cabled pattern gives the blanket texture as well as visual interest. You could also easily add a fleece or flannel to the back of the blanket once finished.

You will need size H (5mm) and G (4mm) crochet hooks, medium weight yarn(approximately 1000 yards of main color and 89 yards of border color), a darning needle, and 2 tiny black buttons (for owl’s eyes).

This pattern is suitable for an intermediate level crocheter. You will need to know how to do the following stitches: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet.

This blanket’s finished size is 38 inches wide by 38 inches long, making it perfect for using in the car or stroller . The owl bouquet is crocheted and then sewn onto the blanket. I’ve included instructions for how to make the blanket bigger and smaller as well. The pattern is written in English and uses US crochet terms.
