For Fingering weight yarn – knit THREE strands held together. Always make a swatch to make sure you get the gauge!

BTW – if you are making a matching owl bonnet, the bonnet can be made in the very same Fingering weight yarn – only knit TWO strands held together!
Gauge: 16st in 4inches / 10cm

IF YOU ARE MAKING THE PANTS ONLY and not planning to make a matching bonnet - you can use the Worsted or Bulky yarn - you just need to match the gauge.

Since this is knit in the round (yay! No seams!) you will need either a set of double pointed needles, or a long circular needle to knit using Magic Loop method. If you want the owls to have “eyes”, you will also need either a piece of contrasting yarn to sew them, of beads (and a sewing thread and a sewing needle).
Also you will need one stitch marker (optional), a scrap yarn or two stitch holders, a darning needle to weave in ends and a cabling needle.

PLEASE NOTE - this is for PANTS ONLY!
OWLSOME bonnet in sizes nb to toddler can be purchased separately.
