Enjoy the smooth relaxing rows and repetitive rhythm of this semi-circular shawl. Two skeins of West Wool Bicycle frame eight shades of Isager Silk Mohair that decorate the rainbow stripes. The main color is one strand of fingering weight while the contrast colors are lace weight held double for extra fluffy rainbow rays. This pattern is also great for using mini skeins and small bits of fingering weight yarn.

The pattern begins at the top center of the shawl and the border is knit sideways while being attached to the live stitches for a completely seamless project. Choose a classic rainbow range of colors or curate your own color palette to paint your unique rainbow dream!

Finished Measurements
80′′ / 203cm wingspan length, 30′′ / 76cm from CO to BO edge measured along the center. Measurements taken after blocking.

Yarn
Fingering weight for MC + lace weight mohair held double for CC’s

Yardage
MC - 770yds / 704m
CC - approximately 920yds / 841m using a single strand of yarn
If you are using 8 CC’s, then you will need about 115yds/ 105m of each color using a single strand of yarn.

Yardage estimates are listed using 1 strand of fingering weight yarn. If you are using lace weight mohair silk held double for your CC’s like the original sample, then you will need approximately 1840yds / 1682m total of mohair or 230yds / 210m of each mohair color (using 8 CC shades of mohair). The photographed sample features 8 mohair CC’s using mohair held double.

Mohair Silk creates a soft and fluffy fabric. Hold two strands together for each lace weight mohair CC to create a fluffier stripe.
If you prefer to knit a shawl without mohair, you can use a single strand of fingering weight wool for the CC’s.
