The borders are designed to show more “weight” toward the bottom and less toward the top (hence why the border at the bottom is thicker than the top) which forces people to look toward the face of the person wearing it! :)

NOTE: The one row button holes are an Elizabeth Zimmerman techniqye. I did not create this thechnique. If you do not understand the instructions or want to simplify consider a yo & k2tog substitute. The button placement is vague to allow for the knitter to place as they choose.
