My mother, Peggy, recently passed away. Over the years, I have created various things for her and she has enjoyed them to various degrees. I made this shawl quite a number of years ago and I don’t know if she had worn it much. She was one for saving things or not using them because the items were “too good to use”. This was knit in bullet proof Red Heart Super Saver yarn because I could always depend on anything I gave my mother to go into the washer and dryer. She did not care for anything other than wash and wear.

I’ve been wearing this shawl in my office recently. It’s really big and ties nicely in the back. Staying warm with layers helps us save money on the heating bill, another frugal thing of which my mother would approve. It’s as though I’m wrapped in my mother’s warm embrace. I miss you, Peggy Mama.
