Penelope Set
The Penelope Set is an elegant accessory set consisting of a pair of mittens and a hat. Both the mittens and the hat are knitted from the bottom up in ribbing and stockinette stitch.
The hat has a folded brim at the bottom and symmetrical decreases on the crown of the hat.
The mittens have a thumb gusset, a pointed mitten tip, and i- cord ties.

Head circumference approximately 54-56 cm (21¼ - 22 inches)
Hand circumference approximately 17-18 cm (6¾ - 7 inches)
Size 2: Women’s medium
Head circumference approximately 57-59 cm (22½ - 23¼ inches)
Hand circumference approximately 19-20 cm (7½ - 7¾ inches)
Size 3: Women’s large
Head circumference approximately 60-62 cm (23½ - 24½ inches)
Hand circumference approximately 21-22 cm (8¼ - 8¾ inches)
The head circumference is measured just above the ears.
The hand circumference is measured just above the knuckles where the fingers begin.
Gauge:
24 sts x 34 rows in stockinette stitch using 3.5 mm (US 4) needles measuring 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches)
Needles:
Hat:
Circular needles 3.5 mm/US 4 (40 and 80 cm / 16 and 32 inches)
Mittens:
Circular needles 3 mm/US 2.5 (80 cm/32 inches) and circular needles 3.5 mm/US 4 (80 cm/32 inches) if using the magic loop technique
or
Double pointed needles 3 mm/US 2.5 and 3.5 mm/US 4 if knitting with double pointed needles
Double pointed needles 3.5 mm US 4 for knitting an i-cord
Materials:
1 strand of Sunday by Sandnes Garn or Merino by Knitting for Olive: 100 (100) 100 gram
held together with
2 strands of Tynn Silk Mohair by Sandnes Garn or Soft Silk Mohair by Knitting for Olive: 75 (100) 100 gram
Work the hat and mittens holding three strands of yarn together. The yarn amounts specified are enough to knit both a hat and a pair of mittens. If you are going to knit only one of them, then you will only need half of the specified yarn amount.
The set in the pictures is knitted in one thread Sunday (col. 1015 Kitt) and two threads Tynn Silk Mohair (col. 2321 Marsipan) from Sandnes Garn.
