What am I missing?
Pétoncle
Please note, this pattern does require you to use a chart, though it is a relatively simple one.
“Pétoncle” is the French word for scallop, something this hat has in abundance! (Albeit not the seafood kind, hehe.) Each scallop row is spaced further from the last for a sort of “slow fade.” Bright colors give it a cheery, harlequin-esque appearance, but this hat is ripe for experimentation- try changing the spacing or color combinations for a totally different look! Instructions for two sizes are provided- the smaller is suitable for older children and small-headed adults; the larger will be better for most other adults. (Keep in mind that, given the colorwork rows, this hat isn’t quite as stretchy as most.)
This pattern is available with it’s sister pattern, Varia, in the Scallop Sisters ebook (get both for $7!)
