Knitting Phoebe is done both flat and in the round on double-pointed needles, with the stitches knit, purl, slip stitch over, lifted increases and knit/purl 2 together.

Note that the images are of a bat with crocheted eyes - the pattern includes instructions for how to make them (hook size 3 mm), but they can also be embroidered if you prefer not to crochet.
