Shawls are like paintings, or pieces of music: everything is about how your soul responds to what the artist (designer) wants to say. Here Dalvi presents the equivalent of a concerto in lace, and whether or not you catch your breath while looking at it is very personal. We are made quite breathless by this. Dalvi seems to have an understanding of the form in her blood, and while deliberate colour changes in lacework can occasionally seem clumsy, she uses them masterfully. You work from charts only, culminating in the magnificent edging; when done, you should feel both exhilarated and reverent.
