Pikapipa is the hat every man wants! It is simple, it is warm, it is easy to wear. And it is RED and you can roll it up like Jacques Cousteau. (Or it can be of any other colour he likes).

This hat is also very easy to knit, top-down starting from the crown. All you need is one ball of De Rerum Natura Pénélope (or any other DK/sport yarn you happen to have around). The fun fact is that your yarn will be enough for the hat because you can bind off when your yarn ball is near to finish.

Pikapipa is very good for gift-knitting too!

Materials
Yarn: De Rerum Natura Pénélope, 90% wool, 10% silk (133m=50g), 1 ball in colourway Coquelicot.

Alternative yarns:
Other DK or sport weight yarns.
You can use any yarn, but this will affect your gauge, the size of the hat and the amount of yarn needed.

Needles: US #4,0(3,5) mm, either a circular of 40 cm or a longer circular for magic looping, or dpns according to your preferences.
Notions: Tapestry needle, eight stitch markers and one different BOR stitch marker.

Gauge for ribbing: 24 sts ja 30 rows = 4 inches / 10 cm with #4,0(3,5) needles, blocked.
Please make a swatch and select a suitable needle size to get the right gauge. Or you can be adventurous and start without swatching!
Remember to try the hat on and adjust the pattern by making less or more increases to get the right size.

Tämä pipo on hyvin helppo neuloa. Se neulotaan ylhäältä alaspäin, aloittaen keskeltä. Tarvitset vain yhden kerän De Rerum Natura Pénélope -lankaa (tai muuta DK/sport-vahvuista lankaa, jota sattuu olemaan lähettyvillä). Hauskaa on se, että lanka riittää varmasti, koska voit päätellä pipon, kun lankakerä lähestyy loppuaan.

Tarvikkeet: Päättelyneula, kahdeksan silmukkamerkkiä, ja yksi erilainen kerroksenaloitusmerkki KAM.

Tiheys joustinneuleelle: 24 s ja 30 krs = 10 cm 3.5 mm puikoilla, kasteltuna ja pingotettuna.
Tee mallitilkku ja valitse sopiva puikkokoko, jolla saat oikean tiheyden. Tai aloita seikkailumielellä, ilman mallitilkkua!
Muista kokeilla pipoa ja muokata tarvittaessa ohjetta halutun kokoiseksi tekemällä enemmän tai vähemmän lisäyksiä, jotta saat piposta oikean kokoisen.
