This beret uses the interesting technique of tvåändsstickning, Swedish for two-end or twined knitting. It is usually worked in the round and is a technique that has been used for mittens, socks and, traditionally, sleeves of jackets. It creates a very warm, thick knitted fabric, perfect
for use in cold Nordic winters.

This pattern calls for a #4 (3.5mm) 24” (80cm) circular needle for the cast on and the rest of the beret is worked on a 24” (80cm) #2 (2.75mm) circular needle until the top shaping, when 6 #2 (2.75mm) double point needles are used to complete the knitting. A small twined i-cord loop finishes the top.
