A year or so ago a friend’s niece begged me to just whip her up a cozy for her ice cream pints.

I’ve crocheted long enough to be able to pretty much do this in my sleep. So I grabbed some cotton and an appropriate hook and less than an hour later I had a finished object that fits my Ben & Jerry’s to a T.

It would have taken less time, but can you not open your pint each time you take it out of the freezer to test your cozy? Try it and let me know how you do in the comments.

It’s simple, basic crochet with a magic loop cast on and a duplicate stitch end game. Links are provided for both.

This is a great beginner pattern for learning in the round, if you feel you aren’t ready to tackle a full amigurumi.

Enjoy the pattern, but more importantly, enjoy your pint without freezing those fingers.
