GOOD NEWS! I have written up a graded, sized pattern for this that has been tech edited, test knit and has improvements for shaping for the shawl collar and front. It’s available here and it’s called Cable Hugger

Backstory

After seeing this sweater on Pinterest, I could not stop thinking about it.

I looked for it online. No longer sold.

I asked my friend in London to go to their store. No longer sold.

I looked on ravelry to see I was not the only one who loved it but there was no pattern.

I looked on ebay (international) and ……I found it. It was a short sleeve version. However, the photos showed that the seams did not line up from front to back and it was very thin looking. I did not love it. I loved the picture I saw.

Then the light bulb finally went off……I’m a knitter! I can make it.

This version is a recipe with how to do this but I am writing this up as a graded sized pattern.

This was designed from my being in love with a sweater that I saw on Pinterest. I could not find so I made it myself. It’s a mock cardigan. It’s a pullover that looks like it’s a cardigan. It’s form-fitting and has a nice cable band.

The sweater is done in US7 with the US8 used just for the shawl collar.

It was created top down to help size it to fit well. The sleeves are done set-in from the top down. It would be easy to reverse this if you prefer bottom up sweaters or sleeves.

Additional materials: stitch markers

The pattern includes a chart for the cable and several hand-drawn diagrams. There is also a spreadsheet to allow to enter your measurements to size this for yourself.
