Plume has been retired. Stay tuned for a new fresh version in the coming year. Those who own Plume will get the new version for no extra cost

plume /pluːm/ noun- a long, soft feather or arrangement of feathers used by a bird for display or worn by a person for ornament

Plume is a twist on the classic Feather and Fan stitch square blanket worked in the round. It is centre out, ongoing expandable pattern created by repeating a set of 6 rounds. This means you can make anything from a place mat to a bed spread depending on how many times you repeat the design. Plume is an intermediate level pattern that requires a lot of concentration and counting. I don’t recommend this pattern for beginners.

Materials needed:

Plume was designed to make a baby blanket using a 4 ply/fingering weight cake style yarn of approximately 1600-2000m. The finished size of the sample is 100cm using 1600m of Cotton King Twirl from
It is an expandable design so meterage will vary depending on desired size. To help Plume look her best, like all heavy lace patterns I strongly recommend blocking when you are finished.
