These little gems are quick to make, take very little yarn, and are a great starting point for embellishments: add beads, charms, tassels, or tuck some potpourri inside for a special touch!

Materials:
Yarn: about 35 total yards of sock-weight yarn for each ornament (front + back + I-cord trim).

Use at least two holiday colors to show off the modular knitting.
You could also use school colors for high school or college students; or use pink & white, or blue & white, for Baby’s First Christmas.

Needles: 1 pair of double-point, straight, or circular needles, size US #1 / 2.25 mm, or size to achieve gauge.

It can be easier to knit these small pieces using a pair of dpns because they are shorter, but regular straight or circular needles may also be used.

Extras: tapestry needle; small amount of stuffing; small crochet hook (helpful for picking up stitches)

Optional: potpourri if desired; embellishments (beads, etc) as desired
