This hat was inspired by the genius Canon Hand Dyes Polar Opposite pairs. This colorway is so not my usual style but I fell in love. One of the mini hanks is heavy on color 1 but light on color 2. The second mini hank is light on color 1 and heavy on color 2. The drama was irresistible.

Details: I wanted to create a unisex hat with texture that showcases the high contrast of the yarn. Simple cables and a subtle color change make the hat striking. A touch of whimsy is added with ear flaps and 3 pompoms. Stitches are cast on for the brim and then knit to the crown. Ear flaps are picked up after and knit ending in a long icord. This hat should be worn with negative ease. If you haven’t tried or mastered cabling without a cable needle this hat would be a great start.
