The sidewalks of Prague are an amazing collection of mosaics that change from block to block, even from one side of the street to another. These granite patterns were the inspiration for a shawl that combines texture, eyelets, and stripes.

The triangular shape is worked from the tip to the base, and the textured edging is picked up and worked last.

A generous size and loft drape make this a versatile wrap.

The finished measurements after blocking are a wingspan of 60” and a back length of 28.5”.

The main body of the shawl begins with a textured stitch that is followed by a section of garter stitch stripes that blends into a band of eyelet and finished with a garter stitch edge. The side edging is a textured slip stitch.

You will need two different colors of fingering weight yarn; the sample is shown in Madeline Tosh Merino Light in Antler, and Pixie by Dragonfly Fibers in Hand of the King.

A US size 5 (3.75mm) 32” circular needle is needed to accommodate the large number of stitches you will end up having.
