This shawl is as simple and basic as it gets for anyone new to shawls. It is worked top-down. The one in the picture is the shawlette version, but you can also continue knitting for a larger wrap version by just keeping on knitting! There are instructions and sizings for both.

The one in the picture is done in sport weight yarn, but you can make it in any weight yarn - the instruction is still the same and you just knit it to the width and length you want!

The pretty picot edge is created at the end when you cast/bind off. But if you do not want a picot edge, you can cast/bind off with a regular cast off technique for a straight, plain edge.

The one in the picture is created in a sport weight pima cotton yarn for a nice light weight summer / spring shawlette to cover shoulders on a cool evening or late in the day. But you can make it in any weight or fiber like merino or alpaca, depending on the season, warmth, feel and look you desire.

FOR LARGER VERSION, takes approx 600 yds sport weight yarn
