Primula Beutlin, née Brandybock, was Frodo Beutlin’s mother, who once had to be chosen to destroy the „One Ring“ in the mountain of doom in Tolkien’s „The Lord Of The Rings“
She is namesake for this beautiful shawl. It is worked sideways, the ruffles will be worked from the begin.

Needed materials:

  • approx. 100 gr (3.5 oz) of fingering weight yarn with a yardage of 400 - 420 meters (437 - 459 yds)
  • knitting needle size 3,5 - 4 (US 3 - 6)
  • stitch marker
  • scissors
  • sewing needle
  • kitchen scales

For the ruffles you need short rows with the wrap & turn-technique or the German short row-technique. The pattern contains a link to video-tutorials for both techniques. So don’t be afraid, it’s easier as you might think. ☺

The size of the finished shawl is approx. 150 x 40 cm (59 x 16 in) according to the used yarn and needle.

The pattern is tried and tested can be worked easily both by beginners and advanced knitters. Basics are assumed.

The pattern runs 4 pages and contains charts, a written pattern and a schematic.

Skill level: intermediate

This pattern will be perfect for an one-skein-project.
