The QUARTER MASTER HAT gives every knitter the chance to design his/her own finished product, without the messy problem of math and graphing charts.

It begins with a teeny rolled edge followed by 3 X 1 rib, then alternating panels chosen from the provided charts.

The real fun of this hat is with one pattern, many different hats are possible. The panels are separated by a single column of seed stitch. The knitter can combine the panels any way desired… four of the same panels, four different panels, two panels alternated twice, add a solid panel with a patterned panel -no stripes at all - the possibilities are endless…

This hat has many different panels to choose from and combine:
*** Allover patterns ***
Snowflake, Holly, Trees, Sardines, Fish Scales,
Bubbles, Ram’s Head & Swirls

*** Simple Repeats ***
Windowpane, Check, Stripe, ZigZag & Houndstooth.

Due to the Panel Construction of this hat, Two yarn weights and needle sizes are used. Which needles and yarn used are based on the size being made:

Child & Adult worked in worsted weight;
Newborn & Infant in sport or fingering weight
