Any yarn and any hook can be used for this pattern to make buttons in all sizes, colors, and textures. Have fun dressing up your projects with your own buttons or creating buttons on the fly when you don’t have any handy. :-)

I couldn’t find a pattern that made a button sturdy enough to stand on it’s own without it having a premade button inside it or a button that was too rounded…so I came up with this. If this particular pattern is published elsewhere, please let me know so I can add that information to my pattern. :-)
