This pattern was designed to use minimal cotton, stay relatively unstreached once put through the dryer and is quick to make.

They make great gifts and are easy to crochet in summer (which is a bonus in Brisbane, Australia, as it is often over 30C or 86F and 60-80% humidity).

The hook is much smaller than the usual size for this thread, but it enables the hook to pierce the hand towel and create a tighter stitch that will hold up better during repeated washing.

The decreases in this patter are very dramatic so don’t be alarmed at how much the hand towel “shrinks”
