This is a quick to make pattern for kilt hose, based on Aislinn Charlton-Dennis’ Toirneach Kilt Hose. She made a fantastic pattern, which I have adapted to use much bigger yarn for a quicker finished product. It is designed to use either super bulky weight yarn or double-stranded worsted weight (hence the contradicting yarn information above!) You will need:

300-325 yds of super bulky weight yarn
OR
600-650 yds of worsted weight yarn

You will need to use a chart from Aislinn’s pattern in order to make the cuff, or you can make your own design (her chart is free).

These would make nice and warm kilt socks for the colder months, or perhaps comfy slipper socks. My husband says they are comfortable to wear in shoes (he’s the model for the pictures).

Enjoy! :-)
