This design was initially planned as a “man mitten”, and it is a great design for men. But many women have liked it for themselves as well, and it comes in a range of sizes that will fit most adults and older children. Right and left mittens are mirror images of each other, and the palm has its own pattern. The thumb has a gusset and is located slightly onto the palm of the hand, making for an excellent fit, and causing no distortion of the pattern when worn. Three sizes are included, all calling for the same gauge and yarn weight. There are six charts, one for each of three sizes for both left and right hands.

SIZES: Three Adult Sizes—Small, Medium and Large

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Length includes the cuff in the following measurements.
Small—7 inches in circumference, 9.5 inches long
Medium—8.5 inches in circumference, 10.25 inches long and
Large—10.25 inches in circumference, 12 inches long.
Changes to gauge or yarn weight, or adding length, may require extra yarn.

GAUGE: 28 sts and 31 rounds = 4 inches/10 cm

NEEDLES: Choose a needle type based on your preferred method for working small circumferences in the round (DPNs, 2 circulars or 1 long circular for magic loop). Suggested needle size—US 3 (3.25mm)

YARN: The sample was made using Peace Fleece DK. Other DK or sportweight wools will work, but be sure to check your gauge so you end up with the expected size! 2 contrasting colors are required. Small—140 yds each of 2 colors, Medium—160 yds each of 2 colors and Large—180 yds each of 2 colors.

SKILLS USED: working in the round, decreases (k2tog, ssk), increases (M1) using a chart, 2-color colorwork
