Raphaelite Socks
These socks are worked from the toe up with gussets and a heel flap. Some wrap-and-turn short rows are used to turn the heel, and the wraps are concealed all at once. The heel flap is “zipped up” one row at a time with the sides of the gusset.
No cabling was involved in the design of this pattern. Instead, the cable-like effect is achieved via the strategic use of increases and decreases. These pseudo-cables are separated by textured ribs composed of twisted knit stitches and seed stitch to keep things tight and prevent gapping.
