What am I missing?
Red Dragon Standard
The red dragon is widely recognised as the flag of Wales. This dragon motif could also be on a different background for other purposes.
The flag is known in Welsh as Baner Cymru or Y Ddraig Goch, meaning The Red Dragon. It has been used on banners in Wales (and sometimes England and Scotland) for hundreds of years but only became the official flag of Wales in 1959.
The details of the dragon on the flag can vary though he must face to the left, be centred on the flag, and cover equal amounts of red and green.
This flag is the same size as our other flag illusions at approximately 32 inches wide by 20 inches high when using DK yarn and 3.25 mm needles. It is designed to be viewed from the side as a wall hanging or as the centre piece of a bed cover. It can be made in any yarn though this might change the overall size.
The last photo shows what you see when you look straight at the illusion.
Note: This is slightly more difficult than my other illusion designs because it has a third colour. It is still very easy as only one colour is used at a time and the others hang out of the way when not in use.
I would not recommend this as your first illusion knit. You can try out the basic techniques with one of the tutorials on on our World of Illusion Knitting web site.
