This is a pattern for a beautiful, soft, snuggly baby afghan, knitted either in Lion Brand Homespun (30 by 40 inches, using size 10 ½ needles and 4 skeins of Homespun in 3 colors: 2 of color A and 1 each of colors B and C) or in Bernat Satin (30 by 36 inches, using size 8 needles and 6 skeins of Satin in 3 colors: 2 of color A, 3 of color B, and 1 of color C). It is knitted in Garter Stitch Ribs, with double knit stockinette stripes which are in different colors on the front and back of the fabric. While the front and back of the afghan don’t look identical, they are both quite presentable.

This is an intermediate level knitting pattern. It includes complete instructions for each afghan, plus tips for knitting the pattern stitch, instructions for a gauge swatch, photos of the completed afghans, and a list of abbreviations.
