Warm Fall days sitting on a park bench along the Rhine…. perfect location to finish a design in progress. But, the inspiration for this design came from a tropical plant leaf that I happened upon in my local supermarket. That leaf led me to my LYS where I found the perfect colours and texture of yarn to begin dreaming of something wonderful with.

I decided it had to be simple, not just because I love simplicity but because I wanted the yarn to be the focal point. To give it a finishing touch I edged it with a contrasting i-cord trim. You can follow the directions in the pattern for hand knitting i-cord or you can do as I do and use the mini looms.

My amazing friend and fabulous knitter birdiebambi was also knitting far from my bench on the Rhine in our hometown in Canada. The stunning black and grey version and the intense fire colours were expertly knit by Bambi.

These yarns can easily be substituted with any similar weight yarn.

If you wish to look into purchasing an i-cord loom there are links on my project page and in the pattern as well.
