This project makes a rolled brim hat out of chunky yarn and a headband out of light worsted. They can be worn separately or together. You will need the following “ingredients”:

Headband 50 grams (2 oz) yarn, worsted or sport, 2 colors (25 grams of each color).
Needles: Size 4– 6 / 16 inch circular or whatever it takes to get the gauge
Gauge: 5.5 stitches per inch in stockinette stitch
Know How: advanced beginner, just enough to be dangerous, stranded knitting techniques

Hat: 60 grams (2+ oz) yarn, chunky weight yarn (Mauna Kea)
Needles: Size 8/ 16 inch circular
Gauge: 4 stitches per inch in stockinette stitch
Know How: beginner, easy, slacker knitting
