There is something soothing—and oddly hypnotic—in observing the ripples that expand across a body of water when an object is dropped into it. The Ripple Ribbed Socks play on this effect with simple two-stitch cables that undulate down the leg and foot while panels of stockinette evoke the calmness of the water before and after the ripples have danced across it.

Although written cuff-down with a traditional heel flap and gusset, the Ripple Ribbed Socks pattern is easily modified to knit toe-up with your preferred heel construction. It is effortlessly chic and sophisticated in a beautiful semi-solid or tonal yarn, or fun and funky in a great handpainted or variegated yarn.

Like ripples moving across the surface of water, these socks will flow off your needles and onto your feet!
