Rising Dawn
This top down semi-circular shawl features bands of slip stitches every other row for a woven effect. The horizontal ladders in the slip stitch pattern break up variegated yarns and beautifully distribute all the colors. Yarn overs form the smooth arched shape and several increases before the garter stitch border create a subtle ruffled edge finished with a picot bind off. I knit with Zen Yarn Garden’s exclusive colorway inspired and named after my mom, Dawn. She helped me achieve an even tension when I first learned to knit and now I enjoy sharing what I’ve learned back with her.
