The Rock Strata mitts are an exciting, quick knit that requires you to think outside the box and have fun at the same time! The name comes from the organic quality of the mitt as it slowly forms over time, giving a nod to its geologic model, rock layers. They also are a nod to the inner rock star inside of YOU!

Inside of everyone, (at least in my way of viewing life!) is a rock star screaming to be let out! No matter how you may think about yourself, you HAVE an inner rock star and ARE a rock star!

So make a pair of Rock Strata mitts and let your inner, organic, rock star soul come out with an electrifying chord and a grand percussion section accompanied by a guttural scream of rock star proportions!

The Rock Strata Mitts are knit in two colors and are made by making pieces that come together seamlessly to form a whole. The thumb is added as you go and the construction is quite easy once you let your inhibitions go and have fun. The mitts APPEAR hard to make, but TRUST me, the simplicity of it and the clever construction method will make you want to make more!

The pattern is written to use double pointed needles, but can be done using the magic loop method, however there is no specifications in the pattern for that method.

Size: 7-8 inch circumference around the knuckles of the hand

Suggested Yarn: Any worsted to aran to even DK yarn will work. To make the size bigger, go up a needle size and possibly even a yarn weight. To make the mitts smaller, go down a needle size and perhaps even a yarn weight as well.

Needles: A set of 4 US size 7/4.5 mm double pointed needles

Yardage:
Color A: 70 yds/ 64 m (38 grams for those who wish to use leftovers!)
Color B: 50 yds/ 46 m (25 grams)
