Rustic Ruffled Socks
Pattern Description from Interweave Online Store: “Worked out of a yarn that combines wool with bits of colorful silk, these fun accessories span the gap between rugged and elegant. The socks are worked from the toe upward to the ruffle; the heel and toe are worked according to Priscilla Gibson-Robert’s short-row technique (described in detail in the Fall 2000 issue of Interweave Knits). The mitts feature a ruffle at the wrist and a side-seam thumb gusset.”
Finished Size: About 8” (20.5 cm) circumference and 10” (26.5 cm) long from heel to toe.
Yarn: Himalaya Yarn Wool Silk (60% wool, 40% recycled silk; 175 yd 160 m/100 g): mustard, 1 skein. A few yards (meters) of waste yarn.
Yarn weight: #5 - Bulky
Gauge: 10 sts and 15 rnds = 2” (5 cm) in St st worked in the rnd.
Needles: Size 7 (4.5 mm): set of 4 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle.
