I’m not particularly draw to horoscopes or daily zodiac previsions, but it’s almost impossible to know nothing about Zodiac signs. Even if we don’t care, most of us will know about our birth sign and some of the “personality traits” one should have. Astrology is quite ambitious. They take one variable (your birth date) and use it to describe character traits, behavioral tendencies, hidden desires, and the directions your life might take. But astrology can also be a way to connect with yourself and your needs, and it can be fun, too.

This new pattern is both flirting and energetic and it reminds me of two of my favorite zodiac signs: Taurus, my birth sign, and Sagittarius, my sister’s birth sign. The name is word play, merging Sagittarius and Taurus in one word.

Sagittaurus is a sweater with a little of Sagittarius energy and intensity and a little of Taurus sex appeal.

Perfect for a romantic date night in an unusual and poetic place.

NOTES ON CONSTRUCTION

  • Sagittaurus is knitted from the top down, seamlessly in the round. The sweater is shaped with short rows to raise the back of the neck. Then, you work the lace pattern with double yarn overs and cables. After finishing the yoke, sleeve stitches are set aside, underarm stitches are cast on, and the body is completed. Sleeve stitches are then picked up and knitted down to the ribbing.
  • In order to maintain a continuous lace pattern around the yoke, the beginning of the round must sometimes shift to allow the correct decreases. This is achieved by slipping one stitch at the beginning of the round and moving the marker to a new location. Instructions in the pattern give specific information on shifting the beginning of round when it is necessary.
  • The pattern includes written instructions and chart for the lace.
