Modular knitting keeps a large project like this cozy throw completely portable. Until the final step, your work-in-progress is never larger than a single square. Alternate between mitered squares that come together with decreases and Lily counterpane squares that grow outward through increases. Both approaches to modular knitting make for equally organic knitting. Finish by pulling all the squares together using a flat three needle bind-off for a project that’s modular from start to finish.
