This shawl came to be after I received a gorgeous skein of Wollmeise at the Spring Fling in St. Louis. I had no idea what it was called, but it looked like the Ocean to me. Claudia (of Wollmeise) told me the next day that the color was “Scarabus” or Scarab in English. I couldn’t decide what to call this pattern, so I put it out to my Plurk buddies, and one of them (paletpc) suggested “Sea Sprite”, which to me, sounded perfect. You will find this shawl a nice mindless knit for the main body, with an applied border that is knit as you cast off the main body stitches to spice things up a little.
