This simply elegant top is worked flat in one piece in a nearly seamless manner. Simply fold it over when done and stitch up the side seams. What a fun way to construct a sweater or top! The stitch pattern is easy to memorize and makes a great takealong knitting project.

Seaside Shell is versatile enough to be worn as a casual summer top or as a dressy layer under a jacket or sweater. It’s perfect for a business meeting or for a stroll along the beach.

Style points include lots of texture, a notched hemline, loose cap sleeves, boat neck, and a hip skimming length that flatters just about any figure type. The diamond stitch pattern on the back is imperceptively “upside down” relative to the front of the sweater as the knitting is worked in the opposite direction.

Seaside Shell is named after a quaint little community on the northern Oregon Coast, a simply beautiful place to visit or to stay for a long, long time.
