The Semillero Sweater evokes the beginning of all things in Spring, as its name means “hotbed” in Spanish, the place where seeds can start growing into what later will be strong and healthy plants. The Simple Eyelet St pattern that covers the whole sweater makes it easy to imagine all those seeds spread all over, also giving the Semillero Sweater a breathy quality to it, making it perfect to wear in Spring or Summer.

The Semillero Sweater is a top-down sweater that features raglan shaping for the shoulder, and a wide boat neckline. The Back, Front and Sleeves are worked in the round together until the armhole, where the Sleeves are left on hold and the Back and Front are joined to work the Body. The ribbing for the body is worked back and forth. The Sleeves are then picked up and worked in the round.
