The fingering weight ‘Shawl In Reverse’ is exactly what it sounds like: you knit a shawl in the reverse direction. I wanted to try something a little different with this design and cast on the longest edge and decrease as you go. My thought behind this was to get the longest rows out of the way in the beginning and the shawl will knit up much quicker as you make progress. You start with 241 stitches and end with 2!

This shawl uses 5 colors of yarn that each has its own elongated seed stitch section. As you switch to the next color, those solid color sections are blended with lace stitches to create a smooth transition. Feel free to get adventurous with your color choices and even search through your stash. I chose to make mine into a pinkish fade, but this pattern is super versatile. Don’t be afraid to go bold!.
