My husband placed a scarf order back in 2004 and Shire is the result. Besides the fact that my husband is an ardent
fan of Tolkien and his Middle Earth characters, I chose the name because it’s easy to imagine this scarf worn by a hobbit
should he want to keep his neck warm. The soft wool is a dream to work with and the stitch pattern is the
perfect cure for the “garter stitch scarf” blues—it adds texture and interest but is easy to learn and memorize.
