Summertime and the livin is easy!

We named these socks for the musical that “Summertime” comes from - Showboat!

These top down socks are great for the summertime. The eyelet stitch pattern keeps the air flowing to help keep your feet cool in warmer weather. The Outlast viscose in Lorna’s Laces Sportmate helps regulate the temperature of your feet so you don’t overheat.

Showboat Socks can be worked either as an anklet or as a knee socks. The anklets require 1 skein of Sportmate and the knee socks require 2. The top of the knee sock is worked on one needle size larger than the foot of the sock to allow extra space for calves. This stitch pattern is very stretchy so it will accommodate many different sizes of calves. The foot of the sock is worked the same for both versions of the sock and the length of the foot is easily customizable.

These socks were originally designed for the 2014 Knitters Mercantile Accessory Club!
