The grosgrain ribbon is run through the eyelets and tied in a bow in the back–it can also be used as a sort of drawstring to better fit the hat to the head. The hat is great for keep the sun out of little eyes and keeping little heads warm. The pattern can be done with cotton for the warmer months and wool for the cooler months.
