We all know that feeling: We make (or find) that perfect skein of worsted weight yarn, we take it home with us, give it a nice place in the stash, and then we… take it out once in a while, stroking it, wishing we had more of it because by all that is wooly, a person can only have so many hats.

But despair not! This skinny, textured scarf makes the most out of any single luxury skein. The slip-stitch twist on mistake rib breaks up the thick and thin of handspun, and the loose gauge gives it a wonderful drape that will make your spinning friends envious and your knitting friends take up spinning!

This is a quick knit with an easy-to-remember pattern, perfect for last-minute gifts or cold evening TV knitting. Enjoy!

Yarn advice: The pictured scarf was knit in a drapey, loosely spun and plied BFL/alpaca mix with plenty of variation in thickness. Rustic and/or fluffy commercial yarns should work well as long as they don’t have too much twist, especially kettle-dyed or handpainted single-ply yarns.
