Suggested Yarn: 6 (6, 7, 7, 8, 8) 9, 9, 10, 10, 11 skeins of Spirit Trail Verdande; 75 % Superwash Merino / 15 % Cashmere / 10 % Bombyx Silk; Worsted Weight, 220 yards per 3.9 ounce / 113 gram skein. Sample was knit in “Chipotle.”

This cardigan was inspired by a long standing interest of mine in all those beautiful sideways cable sweaters, and my frustration with the way they fit me. This cable will not bind at the shoulders, and the sweater fits and feels great on the body, whether buttoned up or not.

For the largest 4 sizes, the yoke is proportionately deeper and the neckline slightly smaller than the size shown.

Size shown: 42”, worn with no ease.

Notions: 8 ¾” buttons and markers for button positioning, scrap yarn to hold underarm sts, 2 st markers for side seams, removable marker of any sort to denote center back st, 2 circular needles in similar or smaller sizes to hold sleeves sts before join, darning needle.
