Knit yourself a 40-day diary scarf with the sky colours!

This pattern was made for the sky-mood scarf KAL. The event was run during the period of 40 fall days--between 27th October 2013 (winter time change in the Polish time zone) and 5th December 2013 (a day before the Santa Claus Day in Poland)--and was based on an idea that one scarf’s panel would be knitted per day, and the colours of the yarn would be chosen out of a four-colour palette, to match the colour of the sky on the particular day.

The pattern consists of two files- a PDF with the actual instructions and a sky-mood scarf diary card, which helps keep track of the sky colours each day.

The pattern of the sky-mood scarf gives a lot of freedom in terms of the type of yarn used, size of chosen needles and the number of pattern repetitions. The description provided in the PDF file is an example so it is easy to introduce modifications.

The author of the idea about knitting with yarn in colours observed at the sky is Lea Redmond, while I prepared the pattern of the scarf in my version for the KAL.

Ten wzór został przygotowany na potrzeby wspólnego dziergania niebiańskiego szalika. Projekt został zrealizowany w okresie 40 jesiennych dni- między 27 października 2013 (zmiana czasu na zimowy w Polskiej strefie czasowej) a 5 grudnia 2013 (przeddzień dnia św. Mikołaja w Polsce)- i bazował na założeniu, że każdego dnia wydziergany zostanie jeden panel szalika, a kolory włóczki dobierane będą z czterokolorowej palety, w zależności od koloru nieba w danym dniu.

Na wzór składają się dwa pliki- PDF z opisem wykonania szalika oraz plik z kartką z pamiętnika niebiańskiego szalika, ułatwiającą notowanie kolorów nieba w każdym dniu.

Wzór niebiańskiego szalika daje dużo swobody jeśli chodzi o rodzaj włóczki, grubość drutów i ilość powtórzeń wzoru. Opis podany w pliku PDF jest przykładowy i może być modyfikowany według uznania.

Autorką pomysłu na dzierganie włóczką w kolorach obserwowanych na niebie jest Lea Redmond. Ja przygotowałam wzór niebiańskiego szalika na potrzeby wspólnego dziergania.
