“Billow and breeze, islands and seas
Mountains of rain and sun
All that was good, all that was fair…….
over the sea to Skye”

by Robert Louis Stevenson

The Skye Boat Cowl features lovely textural stitches that work up quickly in worsted weight yarn. The slip stitch rib is the same on both sides and creates subtle shaping. The lace pattern is equally beautiful and unique on both sides, making this piece reversible.

The cowl is worked back and forth lengthwise and then joined into a circle using the three needle bind off. The two sizes shown are perfect for a single or double loop around the neck. It’s also very easily adjustable to any size.

Blocked size of samples shown: 34 (44) inches in circumference at the wider end by 10 (12) inches deep.
